What is the best Skandika tent?
Skandika is another major, highly rated brand in outdoor sports and tents.
Its name brings together the capitals of northern Europe: Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki. They specialise in tents and camping, as well as fitness and rucksacks. They pay close attention to detail and the quality is very good. We recommend the brand 100%.
For us, one of the best Skandika tents is the Skandika Daytona XXL, perfect for a group of four to six people or a family.

What to look for when buying a tent from this brand
As you’ll have seen, these Skandika tents are among the best on the market and top quality when it comes to large tents, so whichever you choose, you won’t go wrong.
What to consider when choosing this brand
Price
As always, this is the main thing. The more people the tent sleeps, and the more space and better materials it has, the higher the price. So ask yourself how you’ll use it: are you going on holiday for a fortnight, or just camping for a weekend to try it out?
It’s the same dilemma again. If you’ll use it regularly or for years, put quality first.
Space
A large tent won’t give you much space if more people share it than the manufacturer states. As we always advise, put the space you need before the price: saving 40 euros could mean bad nights for lack of room. Always put space first.
Openings
You’ll have noticed that besides the main entrance, tents almost always have side openings or even second doors. It matters: the more openings, the better you can control the temperature inside. Believe us, in summer it’s essential, all the more so the more people there are in the tent (and mosquito nets are a must).
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Skandika is known for roomy tents (family, tunnel and inflatable), aimed at car camping: simple pitching, plenty of headroom and large porches.
Large family tents (several bedrooms + living area).
Tunnel (lots of space and good vestibules).
Inflatable (Air) for quick pitching.
Van awnings and gazebos/shelters.
Bedrooms made of blackout fabric that blocks light and helps you sleep (children, summer). It also helps keep the temperature a little steadier at dawn.
Yes, if you choose a suitable hydrostatic head (as a guide, flysheet 3,000–5,000 mm and groundsheet 5,000 mm) and pitch them taut with guy lines and good-quality pegs.
Yes. Poles are replaced by air tubes: with a pump (ideally with a pressure gauge) you inflate to the stated pressure and then tension the tent. Typical pitching time: 10–15 min for family models.
Rule of thumb: subtract 1 berth from the stated capacity to be comfortable and leave room for luggage. A “6P” usually suits 4–5.
Windows with mosquito mesh, high and low vents and double doors for cross-ventilation. On many models you can open the porch as a canopy.
Family models usually have a sewn-in or clip-in bathtub groundsheet in the living area and modular bedrooms with dividers for privacy.
Skandika makes dedicated awnings with connecting tunnels and a rain channel to join them to the van and stop water getting in between the roofs.
Footprint/carpet, side walls for shelters, reflective guy lines, premium pegs, LED lighting and an electric pump (for inflatables).
Yes, for many models: bladders (air tubes), valves, pegs, poles and other parts. Keep the model reference to order spares.
A legal guarantee of 2 years in the EU for manufacturing defects. Check the seller’s terms and keep the receipt and serial number.
Dry it completely before packing, clean it with mild soap, avoid prolonged UV exposure, check the seams and reproof it if water stops beading. On inflatables, check the valves and pressure when the temperature changes.
